Glazing together as part of Kunst doet Verbinden (Art Connects)

As part of Kunst doet Verbinden, a project by Bildung Nijmegen, this workshop focused on glazing. Because of the warm weather, we adjusted the planning and held the workshop on a different day with a smaller group. We also took extra precautions, including plenty of drinks, more breaks and a calmer pace.

The smaller group created a warm and personal atmosphere. Participants had the time and space to work at their own pace, ask questions, help each other and enjoy the creative process. Claudia loved seeing how much fun everyone was having and how focused the participants were while working on their pieces.

There was a lot of inspiration around the table. Participants looked at each other’s ideas, colours and shapes, learned from one another and enjoyed seeing their work slowly come to life. Step by step, each piece started to develop its own character.

The participants who could not join because of the heat or the adjusted planning will be able to catch up with the workshop at a later moment. This way, everyone still gets the chance to take part and finish their own work.

For us, this shows exactly what Kunst doet Verbinden is about. Art brings people together. Sometimes it happens in the simplest way: around a table, with glaze, care for each other and the space to create something beautiful together.
