A small group from Bildung Nijmegen recently had the opportunity to visit the Treasury of Jan van Teeffelen exhibition at St. Stevenskerk in Nijmegen. This beautiful exhibition offered a unique perspective on the history of our city through the eyes of legendary city photographer Jan van Teeffelen. The exhibition featured a wide range of images, from vibrant festivals and processions to the city’s post-war reconstruction.
Thanks to our board member Claudia Librizzi, we were able to experience this special event together. It was an inspiring opportunity to not only appreciate the rich culture and history of Nijmegen but also to reflect on the importance of preserving our heritage. Jan van Teeffelen’s photographs gave us a deeper appreciation of how the city has evolved and the significance of passing our culture and history on to future generations.
At Bildung Nijmegen, we believe that art and heritage are powerful tools for bringing people together, inspiring, and educating. This exhibition reminded us once again of the value of both tangible and intangible legacies and how we can all contribute to preserving our cultural landscape.
