Connecting Voices, stories that connect

Connecting Voices brings young people from across Europe together in a safe, open space where experiences that are often difficult to talk about can finally be shared. During our second online session, we once again saw how powerful it is when young people meet each other without judgement, guided by curiosity and a genuine willingness to listen.

As the conversation unfolded, the realities of bullying, discrimination, and integration challenges became clearer, but so did the strength and resilience that young people carry with them. What began as individual stories gradually grew into shared understanding. Moments of vulnerability turned into moments of connection, and experiences that once felt heavy became sources of recognition and support for others.

Hearing from young people in Ukraine and from different parts of Europe reminded us that, despite our different backgrounds, the need for safety, belonging, and being heard is universal. That is exactly what Connecting Voices aims to create: a space where young people can reflect together, learn from one another, and uncover new perspectives that help strengthen their communities.

Thanks to our partners and to everyone who had the courage to speak openly, Connecting Voices is growing into a place where meaningful change can begin. A place where empathy is practiced, where leadership emerges naturally, and where young people shape the conversations that matter most.

At Bildung Nijmegen, we believe that real change starts with dialogue by listening deeply, speaking honestly, and creating spaces where young people can truly be themselves. Connecting Voices shows just how transformative that can be.
