Adult Education
At Bildung Nijmegen, we develop non-formal educational learning pathways for adults, focused on personal growth, citizenship and lifelong learning. Our adult education activities are centred on awareness, critical reflection and social engagement, outside the formal education system.

The learning pathways combine reflection, dialogue and experiential learning. Adult participants are invited to explore their own experiences, values and perspectives, and to connect these with broader social and international issues.

Within our adult education programmes, we work with dialogue-based learning trajectories and creative and reflective labs. Examples include facilitated dialogue series on identity and social engagement, and thematic learning pathways addressing topics such as citizenship, inclusion and personal positioning. These trajectories explicitly create space for adults who bring life experience with them, who may be navigating transitions, or who consciously choose to continue developing themselves throughout their lives.

The programmes are implemented in national and international educational contexts and can range from stand-alone modules to longer-term learning trajectories. Content and methods are adapted to the context, learning needs and experiences of the participants.

Across all adult education activities, we work with clear learning objectives, guided reflection and active participation. Education is understood as a continuous process of awareness, depth and personal development.
