Visit of Bülbülzade Foundation & BEKAM to Nijmegen

On 24 and 25 August 2025, we at Bildung Nijmegen had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Bülbülzade Foundation and BEKAM (Bilim Eğitim Kültür Araştırmaları Merkezi) from Gaziantep, Türkiye. The visit took place within the Erasmus+ project From Theory to Practice: Field Visit Youth Work Models.

The Bülbülzade Foundation and BEKAM are active civil society organizations based in Gaziantep. Their work focuses on education, culture, research, youth participation and community development, with special attention to young people and refugees. Through Erasmus+ and other international projects, they share their expertise and build bridges between communities.

During their two days in Nijmegen we exchanged experiences, shared perspectives and discussed youth work models in both Türkiye and the Netherlands. We explored different ways of involving young people in their own development and in society, discovering both common ground and inspiring differences.

For us, this was a valuable first encounter that showed not only the importance of international cooperation, but also how we can learn from each other’s practices. The visit laid the foundation for a sustainable partnership with Bülbülzade Foundation and BEKAM in future Erasmus+ projects.

We look back on two inspiring days full of dialogue and connection, and we sincerely thank our guests for their openness and commitment. This was only the beginning – and it definitely calls for more!
