Tiffany stained glass leaves participants wanting more.

From pieces of glass to a work of art.

On Friday 28 August, participants in Kunst doet Verbinden returned to Hobbycentrum Nijmegen for the second part of their Tiffany stained glass workshop. Two weeks earlier, they had been introduced to this distinctive technique for the first time. During this second session, their designs truly began to take shape.

Guided by artist Claudia Librizzi, the participants continued working on their individual pieces. Each section of coloured glass had to be carefully prepared and joined together. The process required patience, concentration and, occasionally, another attempt when something did not work straight away.

Holding the workshop over two sessions gave everyone the time to work at a comfortable pace. Participants could reconsider earlier choices, experiment with colours and shapes, and gradually complete their designs. While many had approached the technique cautiously during the first session, there was a clear sense of growing confidence during the second.

Everyone created their own design, resulting in a wonderful variety of pieces, each with its own colours, shapes and character. Participants regularly looked at one another’s work, exchanged ideas and offered help when needed. Focused work and friendly conversation came together naturally throughout the afternoon.

By the end of the session, it was clear how much had been achieved. What began as separate pieces of glass had become personal works of art. The participants were delighted with their finished pieces and genuinely proud of what they had created. For many of them, Tiffany stained glass had been completely new, making that sense of achievement even more meaningful. The workshop certainly left everyone wanting more.

It helps people build confidence, discover new abilities and experience the satisfaction of creating something with their own hands. Along the way, new conversations, connections and moments of mutual support arise naturally.
