New project approved: Kunst doet Verbinden (Art Connects)

We are proud to announce that our project Kunst doet Verbinden has been officially approved with support from the VSBfonds. From February to August 2026, we will bring together a diverse group of Nijmegen residents to explore art as a pathway to personal growth and social connection.

The project focuses on creativity, encounter and expression. Participants will join a series of workshops where they can discover different art forms such as painting, ceramics and mosaic. Step by step, they will create their own artwork which will be presented at a three day final exhibition.

Kunst doet Verbinden is especially aimed at people who usually have limited access to art and culture. This includes people experiencing social isolation, young people searching for new opportunities and residents making a new start in the city. It is not about talent or prior experience but about curiosity, openness and the willingness to create something together.

Through collaboration, reflection and sharing personal stories, new perspectives and connections will emerge that reach far beyond the workshops themselves. Art becomes a way to feel proud, build self confidence and connect with others in the city.

Thanks to the support of the VSBfonds, this project will be fully accessible and free of charge for all participants. We are excited to begin this special journey in 2026 and to build together a more creative and inclusive community.
